Admin Password:
There is an Admin Password to restrict access to the Advanced Features program. The Advanced Features program is stored in the unit’s flash ram. You access and set these Advanced Features by calling into either port (L1 or L2) with a touch-tone phone.

Remote Control:
You access and set these Advanced Features by calling into either port (L1 or L2) with a touch-tone phone.

Access Password:
There is an access password for both (L1 or L2) ports to prevent unauthorized access to your pstn line.

Voice Announce:
The FX-200 does not have any IVR (Interactive Voice Response) function at this time. All programming functions are done via a series of audio beeps.

Transit In Function With Two Stage Dialing:
When the Transit In switch is set to ON, a call to the telephone line connected to the L2 port of the FX-200 will activate the FX-200. The FX-200 will auto answer the call and redirect it to the ATA/Gateway Phone Port connected to L1. If Auto Call Forwarding is turned off, the caller will receive dial tone from the ATA/Gateway and will be able to remotely operate the ATA/Gateway in the same way they would if connected directly with a normal handset. Thus, once the caller hears the dial tone from the ATA/Gateway they can make a VOIP call through the ATA/Gateway.

Transit In On/Off Switch:
When the Transit In switch is set to OFF a call to the telephone line connected to L2 will not activate the FX-200 and the call may be answered by any other phone/fax connected to the telephone line via a telephone line T-Adaptor. In this mode incoming calls to your home or office line will flow through as normal.

Transit Out Function With Two Stage Dialing:
When the FX-200 receives a VOIP call (to L1 port) from the ATA/Gateway, the FX-200 will auto answer the call, (when the Transit In switch is set to ON) and redirect it to the telephone line connected to L2. If Auto Call Forwarding is turned off, the caller will hear dial tone from the telephone line connected to L2 they can make a local call over this telephone line. This is commonly referred to as Transit Out function with Two Stage Dialing.

For example if you are using the Vonage, ICH, Packet8, SipPhone, or FWD service with your ATA/Gateway, and you have installed your ATA/Gateway in Hong Kong and connected the FX-200 L2 port to a telephone line in Hong Kong as described above, anyone can make local Hong Kong calls simply by dialing your Vonage or FWD number, wait for dial tone and then dial the desired Hong Kong number. As noted above you can password protect this access to your pstn line.

Auto Call Forwarding:
You can set Auto Call forwarding in both directions.

Set L1 to L2 Auto Call Forwarding to forward your VOIP calls out to a local telephone number. For example, if you are using the Vonage, ICH, Packet8, SipPhone or FWD service with your ATA/Gateway, and you have installed your ATA/Gateway in Hong Kong and connected the FX-200 to it and to a local telephone line in Hong Kong you can then set the FX-200 to Auto Call Forward all your VOIPcalls to any local Hong Kong number such as your Hong Kong cell phone number.

Set L2 to L1 Auto Call Forwarding to forward all your calls to the connected local telephone number/line out the ATA/Gateway via your VOIP service. For example, if you are using the Vonage, ICH, Packet8, SipPhone or FWD service with your ATA/Gateway, and you have installed your ATA/Gateway in Hong Kong and connected the FX-200 to it and to a local telephone line in Hong Kong you can then set the FX-200 to Auto Call Forward all calls to your local Hong Kong telephone line/number out through the ATA/Gateway to any number you are permitted to call via your VOIP service such as your US office’s phone number.

Number of Rings Before Answer:
You can set the number of rings from 1-9 before L1 or L2 Answers the Call.

Ports can be independently configured:
For the most part each port (L1 and L2) can be independently configured so you can for example set L2 for Transit In with two stage dialing and set L1 for Transit Out with Auto Call Forwarding. Each port can have its own access password. However, the settings for number of rings before answer and maximum call duration apply to both ports.

Password and Number of rings Before Answer on the same port:
You are able to set both a Password and the number of rings before answer on the same port.

Password and Auto Call Forwarding on same port:
You are able to set both a Password and Auto Call Forwarding on the same port.

Maximum Call Duration:
You can limit the duration of each from 10 seconds to 160 minutes.

Caller ID Compatible:
The FX-200 does not have any Caller ID capability at this time.

Toll Number Blocking:
The FX-200 will not block IDD, 900, or other toll calls over your telephone line. To do so, you will need to contact your local telephone line company to enable toll call blocking functions where desired/available.

Answer Transfer:
There is no answer transfer feature/function on the FX-200

Continuous Calling:
After you have completed a call (either a Transit In or Transit Out call) you can make additional calls without hanging up. You issue a # # command from the remote handset keypad to generate a new dial tone from the ATA/Gateway during a Transit In call or from the local PSTN during a Transit Out Call.
